The exam

The MPRE

The MPRE is a two-hour, 60-question multiple-choice exam administered by the NCBE. Fifty questions count toward the score. It tests the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and the ABA Model Code of Judicial Conduct.

Jurisdictions that require the MPRE set their own passing score. Wisconsin and Puerto Rico do not require it. Confirm the score your jurisdiction requires before you register.

AcedExams is not affiliated with the NCBE or any board of law examiners.

How long does the MPRE course take?

Most students start to see results during their first study session. It can be completed in as fast as 2 weeks for highly motivated students, 4 weeks for most students, and 8 weeks for a more relaxed approach. The 4-week path most students follow: Week 1 covers regulation of the legal profession, the client-lawyer relationship, and client confidentiality. Week 2 covers conflicts of interest, plus competence, legal malpractice, and other civil liability. Week 3 covers litigation and other forms of advocacy, transactions with people other than clients, and the different roles of the lawyer. Week 4 covers safekeeping funds, communications about legal services, duties to the public and the legal system, and judicial conduct. Then sit the practice exams.

Does this MPRE course work in my state?

The MPRE is one national exam, used for admission in every jurisdiction that requires it. Each of those jurisdictions sets its own passing score. Wisconsin and Puerto Rico do not require the MPRE. The course prepares you for that exam.
